Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I'm Holly aka one half of 'Cholly' (Chris & Holly). I started this blog when we went travelling in 2017, mainly to keep family and friends updated with what we got up to, however I've decided to keep the blog alive as whilst 'The Adventures of Cholly' are over for now, in the fact that we are home from travelling, the complete 'Adventures of Cholly' are still really only just beginning and I thought it would be cool to keep you updated with what we get up to.

On here you will find everything from travel, lifestyle, and just anything that decides to pop into my head that I feel I want to share with you.

A little bit about my background... I graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 2013 with a Print Journalism degree and I currently work in Marketing & Engagement in the third sector. I've always had a passion for writing ever since I was little so this blog gives me an outlet to do just that.

10 things I learnt from travelling...

So, since we've been home from our travels for just under three months, I've had a bit of time to reflect on everything and I thought I'd take some time to share some 'pearls of wisdom' that I've learnt to help those of you who are thinking of travelling too!   1. Go with the flow, even if it doesn't come first nature to you If there's one thing I love more than anything it's being planned and writing lists, so going travelling was always going to be a big thing for me because of course, not everything will go as planned and part of the enjoyment is not having a plan at all and just taking each day as it comes! In New Zealand and Australia we generally stuck to plans as we were tight on time and wanted to make sure we saw and did everything we wanted to do. However, when we got to Indonesia and South East Asia, for most of the time, we didn't really have a plan, at least not a day or two ahead, and I was actually really happy about it!

Rebuilding My Summer Wardrobe

 When I got back from travelling mid-January, I had a bit of spare time before I started my new job, so I decided to have a bit of a clear out of my wardrobe. There isn’t a lot of space for all my clothes at Chris’ mum and dad’s house, so I decided I was going to take all my summer clothes back to my mum and dad’s house, to store whilst I didn’t need them. I also had a lot of clothes I didn’t wear anymore that I was going to take to the charity shop, so I used one of those big blue Ikea bags and on one side I put the clothes I was going to take to the charity shop and on the other side the clothes for home.      I’m going to blame jetlag and travelling blues for what happened next…   When I took the bag back home my mum asked what needed doing with it and I said, ‘it’s for the charity shop’… Oops!! I didn’t think anything of it until the time came to get the summer clothes out and I realised, oh god, I’ve given all my clothes away!   On one hand I was gutted because I ha

Why do one book review when you can do four?!

As one of my New Years Resolutions I set myself a goal to ‘always have a book on the go’ and so far, I’ve stuck to it! Granted I may not be reading every single day, but I do always have a book there to pick up when I have the time. I’d forgotten how relaxing reading was, and how much better books are than films! It’s the beginning of May and I am already four books down, so I thought I’d share my thoughts on them, in case anyone is thinking about what books to read this year, especially if you’re going on holiday (we all love a good read on the beach or by the pool!). I’m going to keep these reviews fairly short and sweet, A. because there are four books to get through and B. because I don’t want to give away any spoilers.
